Overview
What EvoWordo includes
Everything listed here is built and playable today. If something is missing from this page, it is because it does not exist yet.
Five game modes
The scoring rules are identical throughout. What differs is who picks the word, how many attempts you get, and what winning means.
Daily Challenge
One word per day, the same for every player. Six guesses, tracked stats and a win streak. This is the mode that feeds the leaderboards.
Play Daily ChallengeDuel
Two players who each choose the other's secret word. Six guesses each on a six-minute round, decided by who solved in fewer. Rematch on mutual request.
Play DuelBattle Royale
One host sets the word and spectates while everyone else races. The host controls the guess limit (1–6), an optional round timer, room locking and player removal.
Play Battle RoyaleAI Battle
The server hosts: it picks the word, runs four-minute rounds and starts the next one twelve seconds later. Any player can take over as host and hand control back.
Play AI BattleShared Duel
Two players alternating turns on a single board with six guesses between them. Shared clues, and the win goes to whoever lands the word on their turn.
Play Shared Duel
Full rules for each mode, including timers and tie-breaks, are on How to Play.
Around the game
Live rooms with reconnection
Rooms run over websockets, so opponents' progress appears as it happens rather than on a refresh. If your connection drops you can rejoin the room you were in instead of forfeiting.
Room codes and open rooms
Creating a multiplayer room generates a six-character code you can share directly. Rooms you leave open are also listed on the home page for anyone to join.
Play anonymously, sign in optionally
A display name is all you need to start — no email, no password, no verification. Signing in is available if you want your stats and progress to follow you across devices, and progress made anonymously is carried over when you do.
Six leaderboard categories
Most wins, longest streak, best win rate, best solve, average guesses and efficiency. The skill boards require 5 wins or 10 games so they reflect form rather than one lucky result. Weekly boards reset Monday 00:00 UTC.
Levels and achievements
Playing earns XP across 11 account levels, with thresholds published in-app from 100 XP at level 2 up to 4,000 at level 11. Twelve achievements cover firsts, streaks, fast solves and duel wins. Levels unlock cosmetics across five categories: board themes, fonts, cursors, win animations and sound packs.
Accessibility and preferences
Colourblind-friendly tiles swap green and yellow for orange and blue. A reduced-motion setting cuts animation, and sound can be muted, volume-adjusted or switched between packs. The board is fully keyboard-operable and tiles carry screen-reader labels.
The word list
Two lists, deliberately different sizes.
2,254
Possible answers
Curated common five-letter words. Every answer, in every mode, comes from this list — so the solution is never obscure vocabulary.
12,953
Accepted guesses
A much wider list you may guess from. Around 10,700 of these can never be the answer, which makes them excellent information-gathering openers.
Every guess is validated and scored on the server. The browser never decides whether a word is correct, which is what makes daily results comparable between players. How to exploit the two-list split.
Feedback goes somewhere
Not a feature exactly, but worth stating plainly.
A built-in feedback form
There is a feedback option in the footer of every page that submits straight through to me. Bug reports, a word you think should not be in the list, a rule that reads as unfair — all of it is read. It is the fastest route to getting something changed.
