Terms of Service

By using EvoWordo you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. EvoWordo is operated by [PLACEHOLDER — operator legal or trading name], referred to below as “the operator”.

These terms may be updated as the service changes. The date at the top reflects the latest revision, and continuing to use EvoWordo after a change means you accept the revised terms.

EvoWordo is a free online word game with single-player and multiplayer modes. No purchase is required and there is no paid tier. The optional donation link is a voluntary contribution toward running costs — it buys no features, advantages or entitlements, and donations are not refundable through EvoWordo.

Features, game rules, guess limits, timers and the word lists may all change. The operator may add, alter or remove any part of the service at any time.

Most of EvoWordo can be used anonymously with only a display name. You are responsible for the name you choose, and you must not pick one that impersonates another person, is unlawful, or is offensive or abusive. Display names may be reset where they breach this.

Optional sign-in is provided through a third-party identity provider. You are responsible for the security of the account you use with that provider, and for activity that takes place through your session.

You must not

• Harass, abuse, threaten or deliberately disrupt other players, including by repeatedly leaving rounds to spoil them.
• Use bots, scripts, solvers or any automation to play, or otherwise manipulate results and leaderboard standings.
• Attempt to obtain the answer to a game in progress by any means other than playing it.
• Interfere with the service or its infrastructure — including attempts to overload it, bypass rate limits, probe for vulnerabilities, or gain unauthorised access to accounts or data.
• Attempt to access administrative functions you have not been granted.
• Copy, scrape or redistribute the word lists or other substantial parts of the service.

Leaderboards only mean something if results are honest. All words are validated and scored on the server precisely so that outcomes cannot be edited from a browser.

Where fair play is breached, the operator may remove players from rooms, reset or remove leaderboard entries and statistics, or restrict access to the service. Where a breach is clear these steps may be taken without prior warning. If you believe action was taken against you in error, contact the address below.

Hosts of multiplayer rooms may also remove players from their own room and lock it to new joiners. Those are ordinary game controls, not decisions made by the operator.

The name EvoWordo, the site design, and its code and assets belong to the operator. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of them to you. You may play the game and share your own results freely, including screenshots.

Word lists are assembled from common English five-letter words. If you believe a word should not be included, or that a valid word is missing, please report it rather than working around it.

If you send a suggestion or bug report, the operator may use it to improve EvoWordo without obligation, payment or credit. Do not send anything you consider confidential, and do not include personal information about other people.

EvoWordo is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. No guarantee is made of uninterrupted uptime, and the service may be unavailable for maintenance, technical failure or reasons outside the operator’s control.

No guarantee is made that game history, streaks, statistics or progress will be preserved indefinitely. Data can be lost through technical failure, and clearing your browser storage will reset an anonymous profile. Treat your streak as entertainment rather than a record of value.

EvoWordo may display third-party advertising, and links or payment pages operated by third parties. The operator does not control the content of third-party advertising or sites and is not responsible for them. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

What data those third parties handle is described in the Privacy Policy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of EvoWordo, or for the loss of game data, streaks or statistics.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Some jurisdictions grant consumers rights that cannot be excluded, and nothing here affects those rights.

You may stop using EvoWordo at any time; there is nothing to cancel. To have stored data removed, see the deletion request process in the Privacy Policy. The operator may suspend or withdraw access where these terms are breached.

These terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER — governing jurisdiction, e.g. the country or state you operate from], and any dispute will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available where you live.
