How to Play EvoWordo

EvoWordo is a word-guessing game. Guess the five-letter word in six tries. After each guess the tiles reveal how close you are.

Understanding the Tiles

After every guess each tile changes colour to show how close your letter was. There are three possible states.

W
O
R
D
S

Green — Correct

The letter is in the word and in the exact right position. Lock it in.

Yellow — Wrong Position

The letter is in the word but in the wrong spot. Try it in a different position.

Grey — Not in Word

The letter does not appear in the word at all. Remove it from your thinking.

The Rules

Six Guesses

You have exactly six attempts to guess the correct five-letter word. Each guess must be a valid word.

Five Letters

Every guess must be exactly five letters. The game only accepts real English words — no random letter strings.

Hints After Every Guess

After each guess all five tiles flip to show green, yellow, or grey. Use the information to narrow down the word.

The Keyboard Updates

The on-screen keyboard tracks which letters are confirmed, misplaced, or eliminated — giving you a running picture of what you know.

Case Insensitive

It does not matter whether you type in upper or lower case. The game normalises everything automatically.

One Active Game at a Time

In multiplayer modes each room has one active game. Everyone plays the same word simultaneously.

Tips & Strategy

A few habits that separate good players from great ones.

Start with vowel-heavy words

Opening with words like ARISE, AUDIO, or RAISE covers the most common letters and gives you maximum information on the first guess.

Eliminate letters fast

In your first two guesses, aim to test as many different letters as possible rather than reusing letters you already know are correct.

Think about position

A yellow tile is not a dead end — it tells you the letter belongs somewhere else. Mentally rearrange it and think about where it could fit.

Game Modes

EvoWordo goes beyond the daily puzzle. Here is what each mode offers.

Daily Challenge

One word, every day, for everyone.

A new five-letter word is chosen every day and it is the same for every player worldwide. You get six guesses. Your result — the number of tries it took — is saved to your streak. Come back every day to keep your streak alive and climb the global leaderboard.

Battle Royale

Host sets the word. Everyone races to solve it.

One player creates a room and sets the secret word. Everyone else joins and tries to guess it as fast as possible. The first player to solve the word wins the round. Rooms support up to ten players and rounds restart automatically.

Duel

1v1. You set a word for your opponent, they set one for you.

Two players face off head to head. Each player secretly chooses a word for the other to guess. You are racing to solve your opponent's word before they solve yours. It is the most psychological mode — pick a word that is hard but fair.

AI Battle

No host needed. The AI runs the show.

The AI picks the word and manages the rounds automatically. Timed rounds cycle quickly — perfect for solo practice or jumping into a game without waiting for a human host to set up a room. Great for warming up before a Duel or Battle.

Shared Duel

One board, two players, taking turns.

Both players share the same board and take turns entering guesses. You are collaborating and competing at the same time — each guess reveals information for both players but only one can win.
